Junior Cricket

Our Junior section provides opportunities for young people between the ages of six and fifteen to receive coaching and competition in Bucks Cricket Board Junior Leagues and Cups. All coaching is provided by qualified coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.

The club attained ECB Clubmark accreditation in 2013 and re-certified again in 2018. ECB Clubmark is the ECB’s club accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. ECB Clubmark sets out required standards across four areas: Duty of Care and Safeguarding Children; the Cricket Programme the club offers, Knowing your club and its Community – One Game and Club Management. Achieving ECB Clubmark accreditation is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in cricket.

We welcome parents and carers or guardians to all training and competitions and value your support.  We are keen to try and involve parents, carers and guardians in the club – if you want to help out please let us know, there is lots to be done and don’t worry if you don’t know much about cricket – we need help in lots of areas!

Below is some information about training times and dates, and details regarding travel arrangements, kit and membership. Boys and girls of all abilities are welcome!

2022 Training Plan and Membership

Summer training sessions take place either on a mid-week evening or weekend morning dependent on the age group.

The first sessions will start the week of 25th April and the last session is on the week of 18th July.

We are really excited to launch our girls only section this Summer for the very first time at Farnham Common Cricket Club!

Time slots for 2022:

Year 1 to 5 – Friday nights 1815 – 1915.

Year 1 – Friday – 1745 to 1830

Year 2 to 5 – Friday – 1800 to 1915

Year 6 to 7 – Saturday -1000 to 1130

Year 8 to 11 – Monday – 1800 to 1930

As a rule we would like all parents to attend training sessions and remain there for the whole session. In the early part of this season it is important the rule of 6 is respected at the Sports Club.

If you are unable to attend then arrangements should be made for your child to travel to and from training sessions and matches. We would appreciate it if children can arrive promptly and are collected promptly at the end of the session. If they are making their own way home, please ensure the relevant colts manager is informed.

This includes coaching sessions, membership to the club, match fees (where relevant), coaching equipment and one FREE social membership for a parent or guardian. All memberships need to be subscribed online.

There are various membership options available – family, multisport, social and much more for all your favourite family sporting exploits!
